Established in 2019, Vernicos Scafi Tugs and Salvage Maritime Company combines the long-standing maritime heritage of Vernicos Tugs & Salvage with Scafi’s international expertise in harbour towage. The Vernicos family traces its maritime origins back to the mid-19th century, when Emmanuel N. Vernicos founded the company under the name BOSPHORUS. Vernicos Scafi is also a member of the MED TUGS Consortium, a Greek joint venture leader in port towage and maritime salvage operations.

Vernicos Scafi operates primarily in Piraeus, Greece’s largest port and one the Mediterranean’s leading multi-purpose ports, serving container vessels, tankers, LNG carriers, breakbulk vells, ferries and cruise ships.
The company also provides harbour towage services in Thessaloniki, Lavrion, Mykonos and Katakolon. Beyond Greek ports, Vernicos Scafi is active across the Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and the Red Sea, providing deep-sea towage, marine salvage and pollution control services.
